literary scholar, medievalist; teaches English literature; his research interests include medieval drama and theatre, chivalric romance and its political meanings, the representations of the Trojan war in medieval literature, medieval religious writings, medieval mysticism, the reception of Boethius in literature, William Shakespeare, medievalism in modern novels.
