Foreign Languages Day at Szczepanik High School

On Friday 9 December 2016, a Foreign Languages Day took place at Jan Szczepanik High School in Krosno already for the third time, again under the auspices of the Mayor of the Town of Krosno. Over 400 middle school students from 25 schoools from Krosno and Krosno area participated in it along with their language teachers. Several students of English from Krosno State College as well as international students took part in it again following last year's success of the event.

The leading theme of this year's Foreign Languages Day was Linguistic Integration. Following the official welcome of the participants by the Head Teacher, Turkish students who are staying in our Department thanks to the Erasmus Plus programme were asked onto the stage.  They shared their experiences of studying and living in a country of a very different culture. 

Then the students were divided into groups in order to take part in varius language commpetitions and games. Four of the teams organizing the games were students of year 2 of English Philology specializing here in second language teaching: Iga Kraska, Diana Szczepan, Justyna Mularska, Małgorzata Trybus, Beata Piwowar, Aleksandra Guśpiel, Katarzyna Tokarska, Ewelina Dyrcz, Anna Patejuk and Jakub Giera. An additional attraction were cultural classes held by the students from Turkey (Dilek, Tugcenur and Osmana), during which presenters treated students with their national speciality – Turkish Delight.

The activities were organized and supervised on behalf of the Department of English by mgr Agnieszka Habrat.
