NEW specialized course of study
Double-Language Course in Translation and Culture
Polish for Foreigners (both semestres)
Foreign exchange students can learn basic Polish quickly and effectively on a language course. It is aimed at helping the students communicate during their stay in Poland.
Our teachers use a variety or resources, including textbooks, recordings, flashcards and videos, as well as the Internet.
The students are encouraged to use Polish not only in but, most importantly, outside the classroom – that is why the course includes many language games and dialogues that build up students' confidence in using Polish.
As the course has been designed to cater for the needs of Erasmus students, it focuses mainly on communication in everyday situations. The course syllabus includes basic phrases (introducing oneself, asking a favour, questioning...), travelling, shopping, emergencies etc. The students are also welcome to suggest topics they feel they need to discuss.
From September 2014, the course will be taught as an intensive course (2 x 90 minutes per week for seven weeks from the start of semester). The classes take place in the afternoon. Course is worth 4 ECTS credits.
