We would like to invite both students and teachers to a very special international event organized by the Department of English, represented by Dr. Christopher Brighton, together with East Carolina University.
This is the first time our students have had an opportunity to actively participate in an international conference and present papers on global issues. Five of the conference papers will be delivered by our 3rd and 2nd year students:
On behalf of the organizers I would like to thank the students who have volunteered to take part in the conference as well as Dr. Ewa Newerle-Wolska, Dr. Krzysztof Kasprzyk and Dr. Christopher Brighton for supervising their work.

Global Issues Conference
Worldwide, March 23rd-27th, 2015
This conference is rooted in the idea that the interconnected nature of the global arena today encourages discussion and sharing of local opinions. A true picture of global issues can only be created through the exchange of different worldviews and perspectives from different cultural contexts. The Global Issues Conference will facilitate student-centered discussions on a wide range of topics which impact young people and their futures across the globe.
The conference will operate online and enable faculty-sponsored undergraduate and graduate students from the Global Partners in Education (GPE) to deliver pre-prepared presentations and papers on various topics.
The conference has been arranged and organized by Krosno State College and East Carolina University through their co-operation as members of the Global Partners in Education, which is responsible for Global Understanding for year 2 students of English Philology and Translation Studies.
During the weeklong conference, there will be multiple sessions covering topics which have an impact across the globe.
The Agenda includes sessions on: Films and Language; Global Health Issues; Language and Linguistics; Business Education and Training; Women in Politics and Management; Global Education; Educational Issues; and Global Tourism and Environment.
The 40 conference papers are delivered by students from institutions in: the USA, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, Nigeria, Poland, Russia, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan and China.
The conference is available to any member of faculty in Krosno State College. The online format uses Sabameeting as the conference interface. To access a session click on the link to the Sabameeting room, register as a user and log-in. You will be taken to the interface where you can watch the presentations and interact with the discussions using chat or a webcam and microphone. The sessions can be accessed from any computer in the College or at your home. The sessions will also be recorded and made available for watching online at a later time.
